Free Days Out With The Family!

There is plenty to do whilst on holiday on the Suffolk Coast to keep the kids entertained without spending a fortune.

For some traditional seaside family fun, there is nothing better than a day at the beach and we are blessed with beautiful beaches on the Suffolk Coast, with Pakefield being one of the best!

You are spoilt for choice of quaint seaside towns to explore and indulge in some fish and chips and maybe some ice cream after a fun day on the beach.  Southwold is the most popular but can get very busy in the summer months so try Pakefield and Lowestoft for that traditional seaside fun without the crowds. The best thing is that both Pakefield and Lowestoft beaches are on the doorstep of all of our holiday homes!

There are also some wonderful outdoor play areas to enjoy, such as the one at Nicholas Everitt Park set on the banks of Oulton Broad. Plus the one at Ness point in North Lowestoft.

For nature lovers, there are a whole host of reserves waiting to be explored, the closest being Carlton Marshes which has a brand new visitor center, cafe, and education center. My personal favourite is RSPB Minsmere (host to BBC’s Springwatch for several years) with Dunwich Heath National Trust reserve right alongside!

Then of course there is the crabbing! Walberswick is probably the best spot for this and as it holds a crabbing contest each year. Bait and crabbing kits are sold in the local shops and ice cream van in the main car park.
